Why did you decide to offer homes that can be relocated?

We hope that home owners at a Barefoot development will appreciate that they have choices. One is that they don’t have to wait to sell their home if they wish to move to their own land or to another Barefoot development. Our experience in Real Estate tells us that many buyers of property in Thailand start by living on a development where there are other people, services such as security and facilities but after a few years wish to have more space or maybe build their own home. Some sizes of houses may become the future guest accommodation for when our owners decide to move to their own land and build something larger, the house also then becomes the place to live during construction. Barefoot houses can easily be transported abroad if an owner’s situation changes and wish to take the house with them.

Does Barefoot really believe in Eco solutions?

From the start our aim was to be a really conscious Developer that wanted to protect environments, find locations that embraced conservation such as with the national parks, choose building materials that had sustainability and left minimal carbon footprints. We especially wanted to provide a new concept of leaving the land after 30 years so as to not to over develop, especially in coastal areas (which has been welcomed by the Thai authorities and conservationists). Each Barefoot development will use the latest techniques to offer green solutions that our buyers and vacationing guests will look for in their wish to contribute to making our planet a better place in the future for all.

How can I relocate my house in the future and what are the costs?

The houses are specially designed for disassembly and then moved to another location of your choice where it can be reassembled. The process will take approximately 3 months in total and will incur a charge of around 200,000 baht for the construction and transportation within 1,000 km and approximately 100,000 baht for additional materials to replace those that will be required during the disassembling and reassembling. The experienced team at Barefoot that handles construction and logistics will be available for this service.

Can I move my house to another Barefoot Development?

Our plan allows for 4 plots to be available in every Barefoot Development for Barefoot owners wishing to relocate their homes or purchase an additional house in another location. Of course, home owners could sell a house on one Barefoot Development and buy another in a different Barefoot development (new or pre-owned if available). From time to time other plots could also become available as home owners may eventually wish to move their unit to a non-Barefoot, privately owned property.

Can I buy additional land on a Barefoot Development?

Yes, we are happy to offer either an adjoining whole or half a plot at a reasonable cost. This will allow ownersto enjoy additional garden area but no further construction is allowed apart from a natural carport made fromwood. A purchaser of an adjoining extra whole plot has the option to purchase a Barefoot house in the futureat a cost compared with the original plus average inflation. We expect several buyers in each Barefootdevelopment to purchase extra plots for garden areas which will make the Developments more spacious andprovide nice spacing between houses creating open views of gardens.

What is the Barefoot buy back option?

Barefoot Living International understands that some of our homeowners may not wish to disassemble and move their home after so many years. We offer a valuable option in which we will remove the hindrance of decisions to be made by buying back your teak wood home at 50% of the original purchase price. Over a 30-year period, the actual costs then incurred after the buy-back makes owning a luxury Barefoot home a unique lifestyle and real estate investment experience.
